> Experience

> The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience at an advanced
> level via peer-reviewed publications, reports, patents, or similar

> •Spectral processing / analysis techniques, particularly as applies to Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS), Raman, or similar optical spectroscopy methods
> •Multivariate analysis such as PCA / PLS
> •Classification / Discriminant analysis techniques, such as PLS-DA

> Additional desirable experience may include:
>
> •Optical spectroscopy, particularly Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS), Raman, Laser-Induced Fluorescence(LIF), etc.
> •Experience with detection of trace chemical, biological, or explosive threat materials.
> •Preparation of proposals and grants, and project management
> •Experience working for or collaborating with U.S. government research funding agencies such as DOD, DHS, NIST, NIH, national labs, etc.
> •Programming, especially in a Matlab environment
> •Prior military, defense, or aerospace experience
>
> Qualified candidates must possess a Ph.D. in chemometrics, applied
> statistics, mathematics, physical sciences, or a related discipline
> with 5 years minimum (10 or more years preferred) related work
> experience. Effective communication skills are a prerequisite. For
> full consideration, you must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
> and must be able to qualify for a security clearance. A current
> security clearance is not required.
